Gadget Hackwrench (voiced by MacNeille) is a young blonde mouse, pilot, mechanic and team inventor who wears purple overalls with blue glasses on her head.
The daughter of the late inventor and aviator Geegaw Hackwrench, who was a good friend of Monterey Jack, she met Chip and Dale when Monty took them to Geegaw’s looking for a plane.
With open ends since her father’s death and eager to help, she joins the team.
Gadget is known for saying “wow” when something takes it by surprise.
It moves, thinks and speaks quickly, and sometimes leaves others stunned and confused.

Gadget Hackwrench Characteristics
In addition to building and maintaining the Ranger aircraft, Gadget is responsible for the various technological elements used by the team and regularly invents new vehicles and tools for the team’s use.
He has the uncanny ability to pick up discarded and unrelated items and make up for pretty much anything he attributes to having an “enormously high IQ” and getting bored easily.
Unfortunately, their creations don’t always work out the way they intended and have sometimes failed at the wrong time to cause trouble for the team.
Both Chip and Dale are drawn to Gadget and often compete for her attention, but she doesn’t seem to notice it in many cases.
Gadget’s personality was based on the inventive female character Jordan in the 1985 film Real Genius.
Chip’n Dale’s Rescue Rangers
Some of you may remember “Chip’n Dale’s Rescue Rangers” when it aired on the Disney Channel in the late 1980s, towards the end of the decade block.
Anyway, you probably loved Gadget Hackwrench and its spunky attitude.
Here is Hurrma, a Russian cosplayer who put together a fairly accurate screen rendering of Gadget.
He even managed to capture gadgets hair, even though it’s not as big as the character’s.
For some reason, Gadget always looked a little more human than the rest of the gang (just take off his ears, replace his nose with a human’s, and voila) so the character really lends itself to cosplay.
We especially liked how Hurrma blended in almost seamlessly with the colors of Gadget’s outfit, even when it comes to the all-blue glasses on his head.
